SPORTING.
We learn that Mr Allan McLean has purchased the celebrated race horse “ Foul Play ” from Mr Allan McDonald at a long figure and intends bringing him to Poverty Bay this week by the Southern Cross to stand the season at Waerenga-a-hika. Foul Play is by that noble old sire Traducer, whose progeny have so highly distinguished themselves on the New Zealand Turf, (pedigree &c., will appear in our advertising columns in a few days.) The terms will be five guineas each mare. We are informed that owing to breeders in Hawke’s Bay being desirous of retaining Mute in the district Mr McLean, in order not to disappoint the Poverty Bay breeders, has sent Foul Play in his stead. Harry Honor and little Durston arrived here yesterday by the Manapouri. Harry will resume the care of Mr T. E. R. Bloomfield’s horses and Durston is. we understand, open to engagements for riding at the coming meetings. (BY CABLE.—r.EUTER’s SPECIAL). Victorian Race Meeting MELBOURNE, Oct. 14.
