[Reuter's Telegrams.] ALEXANDRIA, Oct. 14. The trial of Arabi and other rebel officers will be commenced on Monday next, the 16th inst. The Egyptian Government has consented to allow the prisoners the services of English counsel. BERNE, Oct. 15. Recruiting in this country for the Egyptian Gendarmerie, which has been rapidly progressing for some time past, lias now ceased. NEW YORK, Oct. 14. The Australian Cricketing Team concluded a match today against Eighteen of Pennsylvania, at Philadelphia, and won by nine wickets. LONDON, Oct. 13. Consols advanced to 101 J. New Zealand Securities unchanged at last quotations, viz. : —Five per Cent 1889, 107 ; Four-and-a-Half per Cent 1879-1904 101 J. The market rate of discount has been reduced by g to 3J. The Bank rate remains at 5 per cent. Adelaide Wheat, ex warehouse, advanced to 48s fid ; New Zealand Wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 42s to 44s 6d. Adelaide Flour unchanged at 335. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,880.000 quarters, or 70,000 less than last week. Australian Tallow continues firm at 44s 6d for best beef, and 47s for best mutton. LONDON, Oct. 14. Tenders are invited here for Debentures of Auckland Harbor to the amount of £150,000 at 5 per cent. LONDON, Oct. 15. Lord Northbrook, First Lord of the Admiralty, addressed a crowded meeting at Liverpool last night. In the course of his speech he stated, in referring to the state of affairs in Ireland, that a decided turn for the better had been recently manifested in that country, and that the Irish were now evincing a desire to support law.
