The effect of the unsettled state of Europe has been to throw further large sums of money into the American Securities market. The rush to get out of Turkish and Egyptian Stocks shows no abatement, although the large purchases made by Continental speculators prevents a panic, and even a serious diminution in prices. A new use for orange peel has been discovered by a Manchester man. A quantity of orange peel being collected, it is dried in or on the oven until all the moisture has been expelled. The peel then becomes readily inflammable, and serves admirably either for lighting fires or for rescusitating them when they have nearly gone out.
