In consequence of J. B. Poynter, Esq., having sold the Bushmere Estate, Messrs Carlaw Smith and Co, announce that on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, at noon, they will sell several prime bullocks, cows, springers, steers, yearlings, and calves, also a pen of fat lambs. In addition, the prize draught mare “Fallow,” in foal to “Dugdale,” as well as several broken and unbroken draught horses and some 50 well-bred pigs. The same firm also announce that on Saturday next they will offer by auction eight wellbred hacks, and several ladies’ ami gentlemen’s saddles. The news of Sir Garnet Wolseley’s success in Egypt was somewhat coldly received in Paris, but great and unusual enthusiasm prevailed throughout Canada on the receipt of the intelligence. The Emperors of Austria and Germany met at Isclil on the 19th of August.
