Sib, —At present there are attending Mr Morgans school (public school) some forty Maori;children of both texes well-dressed and dean; and with whose conduct and behaviour the master has no fault to find. The child-on are belonging mostly to well to do Natives living in tha town, and opposite at Kaiti. Large salaries are voted anuually to a staff, of teachers who reside near the Maori kaingas, who in not one instance have to many on their roll as Mr Morgan has on his.
