[Reuter’s Special.] LONDON. September 5. The Australian Cricketers commenced their return match against Eleven of Nottinghamshire at Nottingham to-day. The weather was fine and a large r umber of spectators were present. The Australians went in first, but owing to the excellent bowling and fielding of the Home Lea-.i, only matte 131. The highest scorer was Murdoch, who was bowled for 72. b e only gave one chance and his play was much admired. BERLIN. Sept. 4. A disastrous railway accident occurred today at Stuldstette, near Baden. An excursion train with a large number of passengers left the rails. Negotiations between the British Ambassador and the Porte for a conclusion of the proposed An gio-Turkish Military Convention to govern the point of operation of English and Turkish troops in Egypt are still proceeding. The negotiations are now known to be progressing favorably, and there seems every probability of the Convention being concluded. Dervish Pasha has been appointed to the command of the troops to be despatched to Egypt, and Baker Pasha has been appointed Chief of the Staff.
