[Reuteh’s Telegrams.] ALBANY. August 15. P. and O. Co.’s steamship Clyde, with the inward Suez mails, dated London, 14th July, arrived in King George’s Sound this morning. MELBOURNE. August 15. Sailed, this afternoon. Union Company's steamship To Anau, for Bluff'. The members of the Victorian Ministry entertained Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of New South Wales, at luncheon to-day. The Government have decided to light the railway terminus, Flinder s street, by electricity. This Day. Speaking at the banquet given in his honor last evening, Sir Henry Parkes strongly advocated the Federation of the Australian Colonies, or. at all events the union of Victoria and New South Wales. He stated that his travels had confirmed his conviction of the future prosperity of Australia.
The Legislative Council has consented to a Conference with the Assembly on the question of the Licenses Qualifying Bill, which was recently rejected in the Lower House.
BRISBANE August 15. In the Legislative Assembly to-night, Sir Thomas Mcllwraith, Premier and Colonial Treasurer, made his Financial Statement. The estimate of revenue for the current year is £2,180,000 and expenditure is £2,060,000. Mr Griffiths has, in the Assembly, given notice of motion in favor of payment of members of Queensland Parliament.
