RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.—GISBORNE.
This Day. [Before M. Price, Esq., R.M.] DWYER V. W. KING, Claim £34. Mr Kenny, who appeared for the plaintiff, stated that Mr King had consented to pay £25, with all costs, which amounted to £5 15s. WM. ADAIR V, RIiAIN. Claim £7 5s lOd, The defendant confessed judgment, and agreed to £1 per week. DAVIS V, BELL. Claim £9 Is. Mr Nolan appeared for the defendant, and said that the defendant was willing to pay 5s a week, and asked to make out an order to that effect. Plaintiff said that at present the defendant had money, as he had just sold out, and said he was going to clear out. He had promised to pay the amount on Monday, but did not,
His Worship said that it was clear that he had had the money, and could have paid it; he therefore would order the defendant to pay £5 at once, and the balance, £1 Is, to be paid to the Clerk of the R.M. Court on the 15th of September next, or, in default of any one payment, one month’s imprisonment.
