CABLEGRAMS.

[Reutee’s Special.] LONDON. August 10. In the House of Lords to-day, Arrears of Rent in Ireland Bill as reatnended in the Honse of Commons, came up for reconsideration. After some discussion the Peers accepted the amendments, which were made to various clauses on the motions of Mr Gladstone, and the Bill was read a 3rd time and passed. The embarkation of the various regiments under orders for service in Egypt is nearly completed. Transports are being despatched daily for tne East.

The Australian Cricketers commenced a match to-day against 11 of the players of England at Kensington Oval. The following are the names of the players :—Barnes, Bates, Peat, Emmet, Flowers, Lockwood, Morley, Shrewsbury, Ulyet, Sherron, and Read. The weather was very fine. The Home team went first to the wickets and remained in all day, the score at the close standing at 310 with 9 wickets down. The principal scores were Road 130 and Barnes 87. The fielding of the Australians was very weak,

ALEXANDRIA, August 10. H.R.H, The Duke of Edinburgh (?) who is in command of one of the brigades of the British expeditionary force, and General Sir Jno, Adye, Chief of the Staff, arrived here to-day. The British Agent-General, Sir E. B. Malet, has also arrived here.
