London, July 1. In consequence of the reduction of English garrisons by the despatch of troops for Egypt, the Government will call out the men of the reserve force for home service.

Active preparations continue for despatch of troops to Egypt; a siege train of 72 guns is in readiness at Woolwich arsenal.

The Indian Government will be prepared to send 10,000 British and Native troops should their services be required. Tho Irish Repression Bill was again under consideration in committee of the House of Commons, and after a very lengthy debate and despite great opposition, all the clauses have been passed. Great opposition was shown to the passage qf the Bill by Mr. Parnell and Home Rulers, and the faction was of such an obstructive and disorderly character, that Mr. Parnell aud 15 of his supporters were suspended for the remainder of the sitting. Tho obstruction, nevertheless, was continued, and finally 6 more of the Home Rulers were suspended for disorderly conduct,; the debate then proceeded- quietly, and the clauses were passed through committee.

The Editor of the Freiheit has been sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for publishing an article justifying the Phoenix Park murder.

Guiteau, the assassin of General Garfield, was hanged on June 30.

Hostilities in Zululand have ceased. The rival chiefs Oham and Kako have now been pacified by the British residents.
