Willington, June 30. Sir George Grey brought before the House last night; the matter of Government grounds which might bo used b.r the citizens of Auckland as public gardens and recreation grounds, and tie rooms as lecturerooms by Professors who may be appointed to the Auckland University. The Hon. Mr. I’lu-fc replied. Sir George Grey gave notice “ That next Thursday ho ask leave to introduce a Bill to nrovido for the temporary approprialbn of Government House and grou« s at Auckland for certain publie pui®>ses.” Eighteen petitions ■ere presented to the House, 11 beinj®rom Auckland district. Majority of membel are preparing for a trip to Christchupffi.

A return of infected shesp was presented shewing numbers iy Auckland Counties, 3,884. Napiei and New Plymouth Counties, nil; Wellington Counties, 53,164; Nelson Counties, 1,850; Marlborough Counties, 354,269; Amuri County, 127,138 ; Canterbury, West land and Otago Counties, nil. Total 535,305.
