PARLIAMENTARY.
[From our own CoimßsroNDEST#]. House of Representatives Wellington, June 2(5. ThR Government, are hopeful of carrying the Native Reserves Bill. It will meet withopposition, and have the effect of stopping operations of land speculators. Major. Harris, member for Franklin North, was iu his place in the House, and duly sworn. The Major was cheered by the Opposition, A deputation of members of the Lower House, viz., Messrs Hutchison, Shepperd, Levestam, Seaton, White, Sutton, Cadman, Bracken, Fejdwick,. Buchanan, and Ivess, waited on the Colonial Treasurer on behalf of Friendly Societies throughout tho Colony, to plead for their being relieved of certain fees considered oppressive and burdensome. Major Atkinson expressed himself warmly iu the welfare of such Societies, and promised to consider the request and if found practical to grant them.
