[From ocb own Corbesi’Ondisnts]. Wellindton, June 20. Legislative Council. Hon. Whitaker moved the second reading of the West Coast Peace Preservation Bill. After a short discussion the debate was adjourned till Wednesday. House of Representatives A petition was presented praying that teaching of skilled trades in prisons be discontinued. A petition presented praying that deferred payment settlers may be enabled to take up additional Jareas of land on deferred payment system. The Trade Marks Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed. The House went into Committee of Supply, and spent the remainder of the sitting at the Estimates, which underwent some slight alterations.
