In the House of Commons to-day, Gladstone stated with reference to the present situation of affairs in Egypt that the Government considered that any discussion on the subject at the present time would be premature. The Premier, however, explained that the policy which the British Government were following, aimed solely at securing the permanent existing rights in Egypt, and that Turkey was acting in harmony with other European powers. At the wool sale to-day 11,400 bales were offered to a firm market. Juno 14.

10,600 bales were catalogued at today’s wool sale, and good competition was experienced at full current rates.
