W London, June 12. In the House of Lords this afternoon, a Rill for legalising marriage with a deceased wife’s sister was rejected by a majority of four. At the wool sales to-day 0800 bales were catalogued. The demand continues active, and prices firm. Alexandria, Juno 12. The recent disturbance in this city lasted for several hours. During that time the shops of many Europeans were attacked and plundered, and the inhabitants maltreated. As a precautionary measure in case of a fresh outbreak, all the European women have been taken aboard the men-of-war and other vessels lying in the port. Later. Further particulars which have transpired regarding the recent outbreak in this city, show definitely that it arose through a Maltese stabbing an Arab soldier of the Egyptian army who was maltreating the Greek Consul. It is also now known that the loss of life was much greater than at first supposed, and according to most authentic accounts 67 Europeans were killed during tho disturbance. Melbourne, June 13. It. is now definitely known that the report of tho death of Hanlan was quite unfounded.
