At a special meeting of Executive yesterday, the Governor presiding, case of convicted murderer Hiroki was considered, and it was finally decided to allow the law to take its course. The sentence of death passed on Hiroki will therefore be carried out. Date of execution not yet certain. Auckland, May 31. Maori Chief Tukukino arrived here as witness for defence of Epiha and Pakara. Tukukino has not been in Auckland since 1847, when he came to see “Te Rauparaha,” who was prisoner on board H.M.S. Calliope. Ciibistchubch, May 31. Experiments have been made with the Kaiapoi and New Brighton sand for glass making with the result that both are found suitable for the purpose. A New South Wales gentleman, connected with bottle making business there, signified his willingness to make a start with it here if sufficient inducement offered.
