[from our own correspondent] - London, May 21. The Irish Detective Force have lately undergone a complete reorganization. Obituary: The Duke of Grafton, aged 60. May 22. Mr Michael Davitt, recently released on a ticket-of-leave, addressed a meeting of adherents of the Land League at Manchester to-day. In the course of his speech he strongly advocated the complete abolition of landlords in Ireland, and urged active steps towards that end. Cairo, May 21. The statement current here yesterday that the entrance to the Suez Canal was being guarded by French gunboats, forming part of the United Squadron, has now proved to be incorrect. Melbourne, May 23. In the Theatre Royal last night, while a larrikin who was creating a disturbance was being arrested, a false alarm of fire was raised A general rush for the doors was made, but the panic was soon allayed. Several persons were injured by the crush during the stampede. Sydney, May 17. Edward Gribbon a native of Auckland, was found dead in the Domain to-dav, having committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol.
