Native Lands Court.
Their Honors Judges Brookfield and Puckey have now completed the investigation uf title to all of the original claims set down forbearing in the Gazette, excepting the Government claims which have been adjourned. The claims of Mrs Gannon, conjointly with that of Hemi Waaka, over the Marne tali a No. 2 and other adjoining blocks, comprising in the aggregate over 40,000 acres, have been clearly established, and certificates of title in favor of the respective parties will be ordered to be issued so soon as the formal certification of the surveys is made. A large amount of interest has in Native circles been created over the investigation of title of those lands, and as they are absolutely valueless until they pass into the hands of people with capital it need scarcely be remarked that their Honors have done much good to the district in disposing of the long pending tribal disputes in the satisfactory manner they have. These lands will, it is understood, soon pass into the hands of persons of capital. To-day will begin the work of sub-division. There are a few cases ready to be dealt with.
