THE N.Z. LAND SETTLEMENT COMPANY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —It is with some satisfaction I learn that ameetingof the shareholders of this now almost moribund Company has been convened to take place on the 25th instant. It is to be hoped the question of accounts may be fully gone into, and the late confidential report discussed. Apropos of the report in question, issued by the Secretary, it would be advisable in the interests of all parties to ascertain whether or not the representations contained in the report with respect to the Maraetaha No. 1 block, alleged to be under negotiation by the Company, being awarded to ten persons be true. I» not that statement contained in the “ confidential report " absolutely the reverse of fact ? This is a matter for the meeting to deal with, and no doubt they will. —Yours, &c., Vebitas.
