Ministerial Crisis.
'L'Jiq Mod. ,b'. .’NYhitaker ■ \ “ fdrrnS a Ministry. Wellington, April 21. The lion. Mr Whitaker arrived in tiie Hinemoa at 9 o’clock last night, and and was met by the Hon. Major Atkinson. Mr Whitaker immediately proceeded to the Government House; the Governor asked him to undertake formation of Ministry. Mr Whitaker asked time till to-day to give a definite reply. The members of the late Ministry were together this morning
for nfearly two hours, Mr Whitaker beinrt.present, but nothing has transpired, as to what was .done: Mr Whitaker has gone to the Premiers residence to consult him. Mr "Whitaker had an interview with the Governor this morning, and intimated that he was prepared to form a Ministry, and that it will consist of the former members with the exception of Air Hall. Ministers will be sworn in this afternoon and immedi. ately after His Excellency will leave for Christchurch. 'LATER. Wellington, April 21, 5 p.m. Whitaker Ministry formed. Offices same as before.
