EXTRAORDINARY SCENE AT A TEA MEETING.
A startling incident occurred at a chapel tea meeting at Polperro, Cornwall. A young lady was presiding at one of the tables, and was in the act of pouring out tea, when a young man suddenly stepped forward, seized hold of the pot by the handle, and endeavoured to wrest it out of her hands. She seized the spout, and a tussle ensued, but as the boiling tea came pouring out over her, the pain obliged her to let go, and the man rushed out of the chapel, carrying off the teapot in triumph, before the astonished spectators had suflicienlly recovered from their surprise to stop him. it appears that he had been engaged to be married to this young lady but some time since transferred his affections to another damsel. The teapot was a present of his to his first love, and the sight of it so affected him that he took this extraordinary mode of recovering it.
