(from our own correspondents). London, March 25. News has been received from Ireland that a strong ill-feeling which has manifested itself of late between men of the 84th and 88th Regiments, stationed at Galway, culminated to-day, in a serious disturbance in that town, two bodies of men, belonging to the regiments named, met in a street, and a riot at once commenced, they fought desperately for some time, and several of the combatants received injuries of more or less serious character. The disturbance was at length suppressed by the police, and several arrests were made. Paris, March. 24. Mr Burnaby who recently ascended from England in the balloon ‘ Eclipse ’ has successfully crossed the English Channel, and landed safely to-day in the neighborhood of Caeu. Melbourne, March 24. Sir Bryan O'Loghlen, Premier, has received a telegram from Earl Kimberly, Secretary of State for the Colonies, stating that Bryan’s information to the Melbourne Age regarding the alleged Russian design upon the Colonies is wholly incredible, and adding that Great Britain’s relations with Russia are of a friendly character.
