SPORTING NOTES.

Nominations for the Hurdle Handicap and Pakirikiri Handicap must be made to the Secretary at the Roseland Hotel, by 9 p.m., on Saturday, 11th inst. General entries and acceptances on Wednesday, 15th inst., at 9 p.m. Pakirikiri Race Meeting. At a meeting of the stewards of the Pakiriki ri Jockey Club,held at the Roseland Hotel, on Tuesday evening last, it was decided that the nominations for the Hurdle Handicap and the Pakirikiri Handicap should be sent in, addressed to the Secretary, at the Roseland Hotel, by 9 p.m. on Saturday night, March 11th. The night of general entries and acceptances for the meeting is fixed for Wednesday next, March 15th, at 9 p.m. The stewards anticipate a large number of entries, and a good meeting generally.
