The Queen continues well; her health having in no way suffered in consequence of the attempt on her life. Universal sympathy is manifested towards Her Majesty, telegrams having been received 10-day from various foreign courts testifying sympathy which is felt, and expressing gratification at Her Majesty's providential escape from injury. The prisoner Roderick McLean | was brought up to day at the Police 1 Court, charged with an attempt on the Queeu’s life. He was remanded to : Friday next, March 4th (?). It -Transpired that McLean, who attempted to take life of the Queen, was formerly confined iu a lunaiic asylum. Melbourne, March 4. The Victorian ILieing Club’s Autumn Meeting opened to day at Flemington. The St. Leger Stakes were won by Commotion ... ... 1 Pell Mell 2 Darebin ... ... 3 Time, 3min., 15sees.
