[From ova ows Corrbspondrmto]. London, March 2. Mb. Foesteb, the Irish Secretary, is now visiting the disturbed districts in Ireland, to personally inquire into tho state of the country. Reported Attempt to Shoot Her Majesty. A report is current that the Queen was fired at at Windsor Station this afternoon, but Her Majesty escaped unhurt. Melbourne, March 2. The following is the latest betting on the Australian Cup, to be run for on the 9th inst.: —7 to 1 agst Sweet Wiliam, 9 to 1 agst Suwarrow. The betting on the Newmarket Handicap, to be run for on the Hth inst, is 7 to 1 agst Result. Adelaide, Feb. 28. Messrs. Hicks and Birber, insurance agents of this city, have been arrested on a charge of attempting to defraud the Australian Mutual Provident Society.
