Election of the Licensing Committee.
The election of members for the Licenwng Committee for the district comprised within the Borough of Gis' orne, took place yesterday. The pulling was carried on very quietly. The successful candidates were Messrs E. K. Brown, 11. Lewis, M. J. Garmon, S. Stevenson, and VV. Clarke. The following is the result of the voting : — E. K. Brown ... ... 57 If. Browne ... ... ... 6 S. C. Caulton ... ... 2 The first Quarterly Meeting of the Licensing Committee will take place at noon in the Resident, Magistrate’s Court House at Gisborne, on the 9th of March next, for the purpose of taking into consideration applications for transfer and removal of Licenses.
