[From orit own Corresi-osdbxts]. Melbourne, Feb. 11. The regatta took place in Hobson’s Bar, this afternoon, when crews from the English, French, and Russian men-of-war competed in several events. Tho Russians were beaten in every contest. Sydney, Feb. 11. The return inter-colonial cricket match between elevens of Victoria and New Sent li Wales was commenced here yesterday. The local team went m first anil remained in the whole day, and when the stumps were drawn they had put together 350 runs for the loss of only three wickets, Murdock being not out for 182, and Jones also not out for 91.
The cricket match Victoria v. N. 8. Wales was continued to-day. The latter resumed their first innings, and again remained at the wickets until the stumps were drawn, when they had put together 610 runs for the loss of only six wickets. Murdoch scored 321. Jones, not out for 109; and Garrett, not out for 75. At the close of the day’s piny Murdoch was presented with 109 guineas, which had been subscribed unon <to --round.
