The s.s. Oreti is on the berth for Napier leaving this afternoon. She left Auckland on Tuesday night and should arrive early this morning. The entertainment in aid of the Hospital, under the Ipatronage of the Early Closing Association is postponed to Wednesday, the 16th November. The committee of the Gisborne Library return their sincere thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who contributed to the late Exhibition ; and also to the J Battery Band for their kind service during the season of the Exhibition. Judge Kenny will sit in the R.M. Court this morning at 10.30 a. m., to transact bankruptcy and other business and also to hear argument in the cases of Mullooly r. Natives, which will be seen mentioned in our District Court report. By the s.s., Ringarooma Mr. G. G. Smith imported the mare Prim which ran so well at the last Napier races. She is a fine upstanding mare by Papapa and as she lias proved herself a good one will possibly go for some of the events shortly to take place in- this district.
