(FBOM OUB. OWN CORRESPONDENT?). •••A Wellington, August 16. The elections will probably take place in Odstber. Mr. J. P. Maxwell, General Manager of New Zealand Railways, has’ intimated to the Government his desire to retire from his appointment at an early date, ,as he purposes pyoceeding to England. Various rumours are afloat in regard to Maxwell’s resignation.
