CRICKET.
The English Professional Team for New Zealand & Australia. In alluding to the proposed visit of the above team, a recent file of the Sportsman notifies that Messrs Shaw and Shrewsbury have made extensive arrangements for the cricket tour in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and the team will leave England early in September for Canada, where matches have been arranged at Toronto, Hamilton, London, Montreal, Ottawa, &c. In the United States they will play at Boston, Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, &c. The matches in New Zealand and Australia are as follow :— New Zealand. Auckland, November 24, 25, and 26 ; Wellington, December 1,2, 3; Christchurch, December 5,6, 7; Timaru, December 8 ; Oamaru, December 9; JDunedin, December 10, 12, 13 ; Invercargill, December, 14, 15. Australia. Melbourne, December 26, 27, 28, 1881 ; Melbourne, December 31 ; January 2, 3,1882 ; Ballarat, January 5,6, 7; Warrnambool, January 9, 10, 11 ; Stawell, January 12, 13, 14 ; Albury, January 17,18 ; Wagga Wagga, January 19, 20, 21 ; Sydney, January 26, 27, 28 ; Newcastle, January 30, 31 ; Maitland, February 1,2, 3 ; Bathurst, February 6,7, 8; Sydney (return), February 10, 11, 13; Brisbane, February 16, 17, 18 ; Sydney, February 23, 24, 25 ; Goulburn, February 27, 28 ; Melbourne, March 3,4, 6; Adelaide, March 10, 11, 12; Port Adelaide, March 14, 15.
