LONDON SEED TRADE. Messrs. John Shaw & Sons, of 37 Mark Lane, London, E. C., report through their agent, Mr Leonard W. Blake, of Christchurch, that there was a good demand for all sorts of agricultural seeds during the fortnight ending May 6, by which date, though, the season was virtually over. Stocks, as predicted in previous reports, were left almost unprecedentally low, more particularly of English Red, Cow Grass, Alsyke, and White Clover. Fine qualities of Alsyke and White Clover were almost ex’ austed, in consequence of which a rise of fully 10s and 5s per cwt., respectively, bad taken place. Perennial Rye Grass had been still in good demand at enhanced prices. Lucerne was very scarce, and fully 8s per cwt dearer. The sale for Bird Seeds continue extremely meagre.
