CORRESPONDENCE.
[We do not hold ourselves responsible for opinions expressed by our correspondents]. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Allow me through your valuable columns to ask the following questions : —lst. Is the contractor for the metalling of the road to Ormond putting sufficient gravel on to cover the boulders? 2nd. What is the depth that is specified in the contract ? Ajp the stones covered sufficiently to allow horses to move along without stumbling over boulders three or four inches over the gravel? Are the Council prepared to go over it again and spend £lOOO more in gravelling ? What will the ratepayers say ? Now is the time to see that the work is done properly. Some of your readers, no doubt, have seen the metalling. Please answer these questions before , it is passed. I could not travel on the road myself, it was so dangerous. They are no doubt in a hurry to get it done.—Yours, &c., Steam Engine.
