Through the unremitting and zealous care of the Incumbent, the transept windows of Holy Trinity Church, have been ornamented with suitable, biblical designs, which are-orna-ments to the building, and tend to subdue the glare of light, which, at times, is very inconvenient. The expense is small as compared with the ordinary and expensive method of staining. The designs used for the work are produced by new processes in lithography and possess all the richness and fulness of color, obtained by the priginal art — the materials required being merely a few sheets of lead foil a bottle eimh of glucine, enamel varnish, and gum rar roller ; a few brushes ; the designs to work from, and the glass to work upon. The invention is called “ Vitremame ;” and has been in use about 14 years. It is well adapted for churches, public halls conservatories, arid library windows of gentlemen s private residences. Any person of ordinary taste and skill can use the deration; and it affords an interesting pastime (with the assistance of Je glazier) in combining ornamentation with utility, to such as can afford the time and small expense. We believe the parishioners are indebted to Captain Chrisp, who selected the designs in London, and undertook the charge, of them to Gisborne. Mr. Beaton and Mr. Finneran are also to be complimented for the part tltey . have taken to give success to the undertaking.
