TELEGRAMS.
(from our own correspondents.) Tauranga, March 4th. /The contractors have at last been successful in raising the steamer Taupo. The steamer Glenelg yesterday took the Taupo and two barges in tow, and finally landed her on a sandy beach at the Pilot station. It is now proposed to repair her as well as can be done here, and then tow her to Auckland. Napier, Friday. Sir Modred has been scratched for all engagements at the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club meeting.
