WAERENGA-A-HTKA JOCKEY’ CLUB.
The Committee of this Club met at the Wae renga-a-hika hotel on Monday evening last. Present Messrs Caulton, Hales, J. Breingan, Maynard, and Price. Mr Maynard was elected Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, in the room of Mr H. Williams, resigned.
An animated and interesting discussion took place upon the subject matter of the meeting, and the desirability of making the forthcoming event as attractive as possible. A programme was arranged consisting of 8 races the principal event of which will be the “ County” stakes, in factjit will be the race of the day, and from the care and energy displayed by the committee, a day’s good sport will result.
The date was fixed for Tuesday the 26th of December to take place in Mr P. Breingan’s paddocks, which that gentleman kindly placed at the disposal of the committee.
On the score of eejv sing the funds, it was decided to .’><je the . ivertising and printing to t'm tti.?< who would do it the cheaper.
