SCHOOL MATTERS.

In a recent report of the business done before the Auckland Board of Education we find the following :— GISBOBNE. £8 granted for balance of contract. An offer for the old school site was deferred till the visit of the Inspector. Appointment authorised of an assistantteacher in place of the junior assistant at present allowed. A cctomunication respecting the night school was also received, and the Committee were informed that they had made a mistake in calling the attention of the Board to a question respecting a teacher who i's not in their district. ; OBMOND. Tenders received for lining the building. The Board deferred the lining of the building for the present. Mr "West’s tender for removal of the building was accepted. Miss Burns’s appointment as teacher, vice Mrs Baker, resigned, approved.
