Father Reignieb, who has recently been on a visit to Gisborne, returned to Napier in the Jane Douglas yesterday. R. M’s Court.—Rawhera, the lad who confessed to having stolen money from Mr Brunt’s house, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labor, on Wednesday last. Catholic Representation.—We learn that the members of the Roman Catholic Communion are about to make a representation to Dr Moran of Dunedin —the newly appointed administrator of that church in the Auckland diocese—relative to the want of a church and pastor in Gisborne. Several attempts have been made towards establishing a branch of this church here, but we hope the next will be more successful. Divine Services To-morrow, Sunday. —Church of England. — The Rev. E. Williams—Ormond, 11 a.m., Matawhero, 3 p.m., Holy Trinity, 7 p.m. There will also be Divine service in Gisborne in the morning. Presbyterian.—The Rev. W. H. The cook-house and two cells originally built hjtve been moved to the new site, gaol accommodation for 80®'’years to come. A square round theft 'buildings has been palisaded with strong timber, cut in the Ormond bush and carted, to town by the Government drays. The enclosure is 40 x 50, and 7 feet nigh.
