ROAD BOARD.
The Board inet as usual on Tuesday last.
In response to an offer made by Captain Bead, the Engineer submitted S plan of the proposed alteration and extension of frontage to Lowe-street and Bead’s quay. It appears-that several valuable buildings haver been erected on the portion sought to be purchased, aud the alterations would not interfere with, or lessen the present roadway. The Board considered the matter, and ultimately decided to allow Captain Bead to purchase the land—about half-aw-were-itr extcttr-rApt l tho. sum fif £4oO;;:siilij£eS Lxllte Approval of the Superintendent. Instructions were given to the Secretary to make the following communications :— To Sub-Inspector Gudgeon calling for return of fees collected under the D.og Nuisance Act. Also requesting all horses straying in the township to be impounded. To Mr. Gibbons requesting return of the number of trips tiiiade by the punts rented fro ng the Board.. ■ , To Mr. Steggaß requesting return of Impounding fees received by him to 30th September. ■y.
