He was afterwards used for the stud, and was the sire of the extraordinary number of three hundred, and thirty four winners, who netted for their owners upwards of £160,000. Riddlesworth, the sire of Dainty Ariel, ran second in the Derby, and won the 2000 Guineas in England. In Australia the Barb and Yattenden were both first-class champions on the course, and at the stud they have also been very successful, Yattenden being the sire of 62 winners last year.
