Total amount of Customs receipts at the port of Poverty Bay for the month ending 31st May, 1875-£43912s 6d. From Mr. M. R. Miller’s Napier Stock and Station Report for May last, we observe that he has no less than seven properties in the Poverty Bay district for sale, comprising 88,850 acres of leasehold land ; 9,100 acres of freehold; 23,500 sheep and 150 head of cattle. The following are the latest local quotations:— Cattle.—Fat, firm @ 27/6 to 30/-V 160fts. Stores, £5 10/- to £5 15/-, few offering. Steers, one, two, three, and four years old—£4. £6 5/-. €B5/-. Spayed Cows, mixed ages, £5 5/- to £5 15/-. Female Stock, 1 year to 2| years, from £3 to £6 6/-; cows, £6 10/- to £8 15/-. Dairy Cows, much iu demand at 610 10/ to £l5. Sheep.—Wedders: Merinos—prime fat are worth here 10/- to 11/6. Cross-bred, 15/- to 16/, firm. Stores : Merino—nominal. Cross-breds, 2-tooth, 10/-; 6- and 8-tooth, 12/ Lo 13/-, few offering. Ewes: Culls, I sold at Farndon Yards, .Merinos @ 3/6; Cross-bred ditto. @ 4/9 Cross-bred Ewes, aged, medium fat 11/6. Horse Stock.—The market for Draught is at a standstill. More seders than buyers; in medium and light this is still more apparent and these have rather receded in value. Good : medium @ £3O to £35 ; heavy Draught £55 to £75 ; with light weedy hacks and trap horses the market is g’utted, good hacks are saleable at £2O to £25.
