Go’s Share List.—We would remind intending shareholders that, the list nf applications for new shares willclose to-d:iv. Captain Bead is the Company’s local representative in Gisborne. Concert.—A vocal and instrumental promenade concert will be held in the Music Hall to-morrow evening. The ail mission is an allround one at the low price of half-a-crown, and, considering that this method of enjoying music is a favorite one with a Gisborne audience, we fully expect to see a crowded room on the occasion. ’I he Telegraph.—-We were glad to learn from Mr. Bold that the line of telegraph is proceeding satisfactorily, being only some 20 miles from Gisborne. If the weather holds the bush part will hare been got through, and the rest will be quite plain sailing. The Rangatira landed some additional poles at Napier last week, for coastal distribution, and it. is fully expected that communication will be accomplished by the beginning of May at the latest. The Recent Nominations.—lt is a noticeable, and may be to some, a surprising fact, in connection with the nominations of Sir George Grey as Superintendent, and member of the General Assembly, that both were held in Auckland last week without lhe slightest intimation, official or otherwise, having been received of the coming events in this district. We learn from private sources that Sir George Grey was returned as member for Auckland C ty West on Saturday last.
