<c XVe shall sell to no man justice or right: We shall deny to no man justice or right: We shall defer to no man justice or right.”
The mail to hand by the Go-a-head on Monday last brought intelligence of a local and general character which will be read with much interest, and to make way for which we have devoted all our available space this morning. The chief item is the unopposed return of Sir George Grey as Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, and member in the General Assembly for Auckland City West, facts which—when we consider the pronounced opinions of Sir George as an ultra provincialist, and the more recent modification of those opinions, consequent on the growing desire to abolish provincial institutions—carry their own significance. Sir George Grey made a long speech at the Choral Hall before the nomination, which we will transfer to our columns at early opportunity. A report of the wreck of the Pretty Jane enquiry, and an action, Siddons v. Lusk, in the District Court for damages sustained by reason of alleged misappropriation of balance of purchase money paid for a section of land in Gisborne, will also be found in this issue.
