CORRESPONDENCE.

[Our columns are opinfor free discussion; but we do nui hold ourselves responsible for the opinions of our Correspondents.]

LETTERS to the editor. IN RE THE COMING BACKS. Sl,R—lt must be » mat ter of speculation to many of your reader®, how the Turf Club are going to excuse themselves for the miserable inducement, (or rather none at all) which their arrangements offer to the racing public. The course they have chosen is generally pronounced unfit, for man to ride or horse to run upon ; the stakes, so far as I can learn, are extremely doubtful, and the rules and regula lion® equally so. The n.eeting also clashes with tint of Taupo which ought to be guarded against. It. is but reasonob'e to believe that like other things racing would go a head, but such appears to be not the case; in fact it must be admitted there is but a sorry show this year, hut th? course is the greatest sticker, why "it was chosen I cannot, make out as there must be other paddocks available, which, if not all th°t might be wished for, would, at least, be better than the one chosen, worse there could not be! In short, if, after a reexaminarion, the Club still retain it, it should be taken, not merely .as evidence of their total incapacity in all such matters, but as strong symptoms of insanity.—l am, &c., King Bone.
