ROAD BOARD.
At a meeting of the Board on Monday last it was resolved that the Chairman should communicate with the General Government recommending that a road should be laid out from Taureka through Waituhi to the Ripongare ford. Also for a road leading from Brown’s point through the Whataupoko block, so as to form a junction with the township of Gisborne on the North side of the Taruwheru river.
> The following tenders were accepted J. Brown outlet drain from Middle-road to Taruwheru at 10s per chain. Williams and Stuckey, formation of Middle-road from Bloomfield-road to King’s-road at 24s per chain. The Board decided to move the Superintendentto proclaim the Municipal Police Act in force, also that the Provincial Government be urged to take into consideration the advisability of providing flagstaffs, and extra wharf accommodation for the use of the Port.
