RACE STEWARDS’ MEETING.
The Stewards met on Saturday evening, but the main business consisted in passing the amount of the stakes to be run for at the coming Races, the particulars of which—obligingly furnished us by one of the Stewards —are as follow :— FIRST DAY. Maiden Plate, 25 sovs. Cavalry Race, 10 sovs. (in addition to 10 sovs. given by the Troop.) Turanga Stakes, 30 sovs. Hack Race, 5 sovs. Railway Stakes, 15 sovs. SECOND DAY. Hurdle Race, 25 sovs. Flying Stakes, 10 sovs. Ladies’ Purse, 25 sovs. Consolation, 15 sovs. Forced Handicap, 5 sovs.
