TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—l notice that a meeting of Sheepfarmers is called to discuss the new Sheep Act for the 28th inst., at the Aruvll Hotel. ‘ W The 28th being the first day of the Poverty Bay Races, 1 should imagine it will be very inconvenient for those gentlemen whose names appear as Stewards, to be present at both places. I would suggest that the meeting of Sheepfarmers be postponed fur a week. By calling the attention of those concerned to tins in to-morrow’s issue. I shall feel obliged. —1 am, Ac., A. Blair. Gisborne, January 19, 1874. [We have forestalled our correspondeut’s wishes in this respect, and learnt that the opportunity of Sheepfarmers being brought together was considered to be an eligible one for discussing the proposed new Act. It must, however, of necessity be a preliminary meeting only, as it will take many a long evening to “ discuss ” the matter thoroughly.]
