ROAD BOARD.
Monday’, November 17, 1873.
Present —Messrs. Poynter, Johnson, Parsons. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following letters were received : — 1. —From the Provincial Secretary enclosing copy of Gazette containing Superintendent's proclamation confirming the orders of the Board for certain lines of road.
2.—Forwarding a copy of the plan of the township of Gisborne.
Mr. Wyllie was informed that his request for a grant in aid for the construction of a bridge over the Taruwheru river could not be entertained at present. The Engineer was instructed to prepair with as little delay as possible specifications and estimate for the completion of the Gladstone-road up to the Slaughter House for the reception of metal and to examine the ditches as to the advisability of deepening the same ; also to take the levels of, and prepare estimate for drains on the Patutahi road.
