The exports from the United Kingdom for the month of June are declared to be of the value of £19,500,000, being £750,000 below the value of the exports in the corresponding month of last year. Arrivals. — Harvest Home, from Auckland March 5 ; Arethusa, from Adelaide March 17 ; Beneledi, from Adelaide February 24; Helen Denny, from New Zealand March 5 ; Canning, from Sydney March 6 ; Duncraig, from Adelaide March’ 21 ; also Glenhuntly, from Auckland ; Pleiades, Shangai, and Burrie, from Adelaide. July 8. Cholera has broken out at Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and other Continental cities. July 9. The Tichborne claimant is seriously ill. He is suffering from erysipelas. The cause has been postponed, as a medical certificate states that the life of the Claimant is being endangered by attending at the Court. July 10. The London wool sales opened this evening. The prices offered at first were well maintained. Upwards of 6,500 bails were submitted to auction. The attendance of both home and foreign buyers •was large. The biddings commenced with great spirit. Prices show an average advance of about Id in the lb. The Bank of England has reduced its rate of discount to 5 per cent. » , The New Zealand Fibre-works Company, whose capital is £lOO,OOO, are about to establish a colonial factory for the manufacture of the company's fabric. The British have burned the native town of Ehnini because the inhabitants sided with the Ashantees. Turkish vessels are proceeding to Sumatra to ♦protect British subjects. July 12. His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh has been formally betrothed to the Grand Duchess Maria, daughter of the Czar of Russia. In Spain the Carlists have been surprised by Republican troops under General Caltrinetz, and a thousand of the insurrectionists killed or captured. Fig iron is now quoted at £5 12s per ton ; and copper ot £9O per ton. ■ July 24. Cholera has appeared in London. There is much alarm in consequence throughout Great Britain. The Government and local public bodies are endeavoring to mitigate the pestilence. America. Cholera is spreading in New York. Mr. Power, the sculptor, is dead. It is intended to hold an International Exhibition in 1876 at Philadelphia.
