THE PUNTS AGAIN.
Sib, —In a local in Saturday’s Standard you have stated that my offer for building punts was the highest. Such has not been the case. Mr. Donahoo’s tender—£l73 —was for each punt, and not for two, as stated in your report of the Road Board proceeding. Consequently my tender was £32 lower than his. This makes one more to the long list of mistakes committed by the Secretary for the Road Board, or yourself,—either of which must have been adrift.—Yours, &c., A. Ross. [The reports of the Boards proceedings are not compiled by ns ; neither are we responsible for their correctness, as they are taken from the Minutes as furnished by the Secretary to this office. On reading the explanation, as given by Mr. Ross, we much doubt whether some one is not still “ adrift," for Messrs. Rigg and Steele are stated as having tendered at £135 and £l3O, respectively, for building two punts.—Ed. P.B.&]
