“JACK IN OFFICE."
TO THB iBITOB OT 4HB OTANPABD. Sib,—The pertinacity exhibited by some of our newly appointed officials is certainly worthy of remarkit is pervading their every official action. If I am not mistaken, their Wish is to be considered very zealous, and ! to impress the outside world of their importance, laboring under the impression that to deal an official snub (judicious or otherwise) is part of their* duty and in the execution of this graceful accomplishment, their consequence is the greater. If I might be allowed to spggest.a small modicum of courtesy ■ being administered by these gentlemen, to
the public in a consistent and dignified manner, perhaps it might rather increase their popularity than otherwise; especially, as the article qost a so little, with a certainty of such a quick and large return. ut • Apologising for troubling you with this apparently inigmatical letter—l remain, sir, rr no. 5.
